Therapeutic Word of the Day: Peace

“Peace first starts in your mind. If you are upset and angry all the time in your thoughts, your actions will follow.”

Peace is a very feel good concept. We want peace in the world, peace in our home. We want a sense of security. For there to be real peace, it has to come from within.

If we are angry all the time, fueled by one injustice or another, it will affect our actions. Life at times is not fair, and not all things will go your way. If you are looking to be offended, looking to be angry, you will live a life without peace. At times, people need to take a stand for things that are not right, but as yourself at what will be the cost? Everything has a cost. If you are angry all the time and want the world to change, as yourself, if you are helping the problem or making it worse.

While peace in the world may be hard to find, you can have peace in your mind. It is a choice, all though at times a difficult one.
