Defining & Diagnosing Internet Addiction

You have likely heard about Fortnite, Minecraft, or League of Legends but have no idea what they are. In this workshop, you will learn about today’s more popular games, so you are more understanding of the gaming scene. Many teens and adults are addicted to games, and knowing about them will help build rapport and begin the treatment process.

Social Media Addiction

Social Media Addiction is a real addiction that affects millions. When you are at a restaurant or a sporting event, what are most people doing? They are often on their phones, engaged in social media. In this workshop, you will learn about the most popular social media applications, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, and more!

Treating Internet Addiction

Treating Internet Addiction and related conditions is a difficult task due to the addictive nature of electronics. Treatment begins by learning how to build rapport with the Client, followed by determining the Needs gained from the addiction. You will learn CBT techniques, insight-oriented techniques, and how to include the family in treatment. Without a firm understanding of the addictive nature of electronics, therapists often have a difficult time treating this addiction.
